I’m 40 years antediluvian and own be doing impossible to tell apart work (albeit near different companies) since I be 17. I am contained by a deteriorating industry (worsted wool textile manufacturing) and own a specialised opening next to no adjectives transferable skill (woven suiting stuff design). Although it is somewhat capably compensated and have allowed me to travel to different countries I am bored rigid beside it and can not see the industry remaining more than another 10 years (I own be made redundant several times contained by the ending 23 years). There are other opportunity within sale and buying but I want out of textile altogether.

40 is a bit infirm to completely retrain (ok you are never too weak etc, but retrain, get hold of a current work, build up a creer, again?). What almost starting a business that utilises your skills? If you can`t stand the notion of business, troop up beside someone who can do the admin side. Is at hand not some specialised service you could provide? Or could you supply a secure character of yard goods product from overseas*? Is here some product you could specialise surrounded by that have a niche bazaar (or better several niche markets) and for which relations will pay cheque seriously?
