Question:
i need something to invest my money on…im on a 300 dollar budget and i need something to invest in, something small that i will make profit on and make extra money from it…like almost starting my own business…..any ideas or tips let me know

Answer:
It depends partly on how much access you need to your money while it's earning. If you can bear to have the money completely inaccessible for at least 6 months, I'd recommend a CD, which is a certificate of deposit. You can get it at your bank, and it offers a higher interest than a basic savings account, except you pay a penalty if you withdraw the money before the end of the term of the CD, which usually has a minimum length of 6 months. CDs can also last two years or more, and the longer the term of the CD, the higher the interest. I've been very happy with CDs from ING Direct, an online bank. If you need to keep access to your money at all times, ING also has regular savings accounts with much higher interest rates than I've seen in most other places.
